Vinyl Care & Maintenance

While vinyl is durable and easy to care for, it does require a minimal maintenance routine. Follow these expert tips to keep your vinyl floors looking their best!

Keep Your Vinyl Looking New

PRACTICE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

Even if you don’t have a lot of spare time to devote to vinyl cleaning and care, there are some quick and easy tasks that will do wonders to protect the look and longevity of your vinyl flooring.

Preventative maintenance will go a long way to keep your laminate looking as good as new for years to come. Ask family members and guests to remove their shoes before walking across your floor. Also invest in some doormats to trap dirt and particles instead of tracking them throughout your home.

VINYL CARE TIPS

Regular Cleaning

Sweep, dry mop, and vacuum your vinyl flooring frequently (but be sure not to use a beater bar when vacuuming, as this can scuff your flooring). Mop occasionally using a special cleaner we can recommend.

Most Vinyl floors have finishes that do not require additional buffing, shining, or waxing-these actions, in fact, might harm the finish.

VINYL CARE TIPS

Dealing with Spills & Stains

No matter how careful you are or how much you stick to your care and maintenance routine, your vinyl will still likely experience the occasional spill or mess, especially if you have kids or pets.

Use a damp cloth to blot up spills as soon as they happen. Never allow liquids to stand on your vinyl floor.

Vinyl floors can be slippery when wet, so use caution when walking on them after mopping.
